WOMAN PASSES OUT DURING ``AMERICAN IDOL‘‘

     LOS ANGELES (AP) - Kristy Lee Cook and Ramiele Malubay
(RAY‘-me-el mah-LOO‘-by) weren‘t the only nervous ones Wednesday
night as they waited to find out who would be kicked off ``American
Idol.‘‘ Malubay says when the two of them were standing on stage
awaiting their fate and the show went to a break, a woman in the
audience passed out in front of them. She says the woman was rushed
to the hospital and seems to be OK. Malubay says she and Cook were
looking at each other, ``What just happened?‘‘ Cook was safe for
another week. Malubay was the one kicked off. Malubay says Cook, as
well as contestants Brooke White and Syesha Mercado, left her a
goodbye card full of private jokes that she found when she was
packing.

CARRIE UNDERWOOD IS REPORTEDLY NO LONGER DATING CHASE CRAWFORD

     UNDATED (AP) - Carrie Underwood is single again -- but her heart
may actually still be taken. Underwood tells People magazine she
and Gossip Girl star Chase Crawford have ``parted ways.‘‘ Underwood
says she hasn‘t spoken with Crawford ``in over a month.‘‘ Sources
say Crawford broke it off, but not because he wanted to. They say
Crawford actually wanted the relationship to work and it ended up
breaking his heart. Seems Underwood is a little too close for
comfort to her ex, football star Tony Romo. One Gossip Girl source
says ``in any relationship, you need someone who is over their
ex.‘‘

TRACE ADKINS REPORTEDLY TAKES AN ACTING ROLE

     UNDATED (AP) - Trace Adkins has pipes. Trace Adkins has business
savvy. We‘ll soon know if Trace Adkins has acting abilities.
Country Weekly magazine says Adkins has been cast as the Grim
Reaper in the upcoming movie ``American Carol,‘‘ a takeoff of the
Charles Dickens classic ``A Christmas Carol.‘‘ Adkins will use his
special musical abilities to help soften Scrooge‘s miserly heart.
Kelsey Grammer is also said to be starring in the movie, which so
far does not have a release date.

JO DEE MESSINA JOINS ``SECRET TALENTS OF THE STARS‘‘

     LOS ANGELES (AP) - Jo Dee Messina will show off her urban dance
moves on TV. She‘s joining the CBS show ``Secret Talents of the
Stars.‘‘ She will train with a choreographer for a hip-hop dance.
Clint Black will also appear on the show, as will George Takei
(tah-KY‘) from ``Star Trek,‘‘ Ben Stein and Malcolm Jamal-Warner,
among others. The show premieres Tuesday.

AMY GRANT AND VINCE GILL TO HOST BENEFIT FOR VETERANS

     NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Amy Grant and Vince Gill will be hosting
an event to honor America‘s wounded soldiers and their families.
Challenge America 2008 will be held at the Kennedy Center in
Washington, DC in June. It will be a night of music and
entertainment to raise funds for Challenge Aspen‘s recreational and
competitive programs for veterans will disabilities. Gill says ``we
want to make an impact on the individuals that have given to us in
unimaginable ways.‘‘

RANDY OWEN AND SUGARLAND WILL PREFORM AT FREE CONCERT NEXT MONTH

     ENCINO, Calif. (AP) - Randy Owen and Sugarland will take part in
a free concert in Las Vegas next month. The Fremont Street
Experience is a two-day music event that‘s free to the public. Owen
will perform on May 16th. Sugarland will perform on May 17th.

ZANE LEWIS SIGNS EXCLUSIVE DEAL WITH BOOKING AGENCY

     NASHVILLE (AP) - Zane Lewis has signed an exclusive booking
agreement with Austin Universal Entertainment. Zane says ``I am
really looking forward to this relationship‘‘ with AUE. Zane was
recently named one of CMA‘s Who to Watch in 2008 and has just
released his self-titled album Zane Lewis.
