HELENA, Mont. (AP) _ An official of the Helena Branch of the
Federal Reserve Bank says home foreclosures are expected to
increase in Montana this year, but foreclosure rates are still
lower than in the rest of the country. Sue Woodrow says there are
some hotspots of foreclosure activity in Montana, but it‘s nowhere
near as grim as in parts of the Southwest, Midwest and Florida.
KALISPELL, Mont. (AP) _ Cleanup continues at the site of last
week‘s tanker truck rollover, that spilled thousands of gallons of
gasoline near Finley Point along Flathead Lake. The water in the
lake is 2,000 feet from its high-water shoreline and no liquid
gasoline has been found west of the highway, but booms have been
placed on the water in case gasoline seeps through the surrounding
soil.
LANDER, Wyo. (AP) _ Wyoming Game and Fish officials say at least
10 wolves have been killed in the state since the federal
government ended its protection of the animals last month. All 10
were killed in Sublette County, in the area of the state where
regulations classify wolves as predators that can be killed on
sight.
HELENA, Mont. (AP) _ The National Folk Festival comes to Montana
this summer, and organizers hope attendance will hit six figures.
They‘re working to raise 1 million dollars for expenses; and
fundraisers have collected almost $675,000. The three-day outdoor
event will be held in Butte for the next three summers, starting
July 11th.
