Cal hires former Stanford hoops coach Montgomery<
BERKELEY, Calif. (AP) _ California has turned to its biggest
rival to find its new basketball coach. The school hired former
Stanford coach Mike Montgomery yesterday to replace fired men‘s
hoops coach Ben Braun.
Montgomery was to be officially introduced at a news conference
on campus tomorrow, according to the school.
Montgomery spent 18 years with the Cardinal, but has been out of
coaching since August 2006 when he was let go after two seasons in
the NBA with the Golden State Warriors.
Braun was fired last week after 12 seasons as coach when the
Bears missed the NCAA tournament for the fourth time in five years.
Montgomery made the tournament his final 10 years at Stanford.
He has a career college coaching record of 547-244, including a
155-76 record in eight seasons at Montana from 1978 through 1986.

Montana‘s rosters for the Montana-Wyoming all-star series in
June
BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) _ The rosters for Montana‘s teams in the
Montana-Wyoming All-Star series have been announced. The games will
be played June 20th at Sheridan College and June 21st at Billings
West.<
The boys roster includes:
Brandon Boltz, Butte; Cole Conway, Butte; Grant Fink, Helena;
D.J. Fish, Browning; Brian Foran, Winifred; Andy Garland, Missoula
Sentinel; Jim Mee, Libby; Daniel Pearson, Billings Central and
Casey Rogers, Billings West.<
While the girls chosen to play are:
Torrie Cahill, Miles City; Kezia Ford, Great Falls; Jeni
Guertin, Bozeman; Ali Hurley, Anaconda; Sage Indendi, Livingston;
Brianne McClafferty, Butte; Joey O‘Neill, Butte; Laramie Schwenke,
Malta; Kalli Stanhope, Glendive and Kirsten Tilleman, Bozeman.
Rocky Mountain College‘s Bill Dreikosen will coach the boys and
Brian Henderson will coach the girls.

Great Falls runner signs with Rocky cross country
BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) _ Great Falls Central runner Dillon
O‘Fallon has signed a letter of intent to join the cross country
team at Rocky mountain College.
O‘Fallon ran cross country all four years of high school and
finished 15th at the state Class C championships last fall.
O‘Fallon also competed in the Simplot Games in Pocatello, Idaho, as
well as the USATF national championships in cross country.
O‘Fallon‘s personal best three-mile cross country time is 17
minutes, 11 seconds.
Rocky coach Alan King announced the signing.

Eddie Kavran is head golf pro at Hilands
BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) _ Former Montana State Amateur golf
champion Eddie Kavran is the new golf pro at the Hilands Golf Club
in Billings.
The 32-year-old Kavran started working at the Hilands in
January, after spending 5 1/2 years as the assistant pro at the
Laurel Golf Club.
Kavran replaces Scott Cain at the Hilands. He says one of his
top priorities is to get more of the club‘s 275 members
participating in golf.
The Dillon native golfed at Idaho State and the University of
Idaho and won the Montana State Amateur in 1998. He was the
runner-up in 1995 and 1999 and lost a playoff for second in 1997.
