     UM women defeat Arizona school in tennis

     

     MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) _ The University of Montana women‘s tennis
team defeated Arizona‘s Glendale Community College, 7-0, this
weekend in Arizona.

     Montana‘s record for the season improved to 5-10 overall after
the women prevailed in doubles and singles play yesterday.

     The squad returns to action next weekend with home matches
against Eastern Washington and Montana State.

     UM, MSU to play in Arizona golf tournament

     

     BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) _ Golfers from the University of Montana and
Montana State will play in the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic, in
Chandler, Arizona.

     There will be 36 holes of play tomorrow and 18 on Tuesday.

     Besides host Wyoming, players will represent schools from a wide
geographic area.

     They include Arkansas State, Eastern Washington, North Dakota
State, Northern Arizona, Southern Utah, Northern Colorado, Nevada,
Weber State and Wichita State.

     Flathead High boys‘ soccer coach resigns

     

     KALISPELL, Mont. (AP) _ The boys‘ soccer coach at Flathead High
School in Kalispell has resigned after two successful seasons.

     Eric Sawtelle is a science teacher. He says the combination of
his classroom responsibilities and coaching was too much.

     Two years ago, Sawtelle guided the Flathead Braves to a Class AA
state championship.

     School District Activities Director Frank Jobe says the search
for a new coach is under way.

     UM-Western sets basketball camp

     

     DILLON, Mont. (AP) _ The University of Montana Western, in
Dillon, has scheduled its boys‘ basketball camp for July 13th
through 16th.

     Enrollment is open to boys who will enter grades four through 12
this fall.

     The camp includes basketball instruction by Western‘s players
and coaches, and by guest coaches. League competition is planned.

     All sessions will take place on the college campus. Participants
wishing to stay overnight will be housed in dormitories.
