^Olympic torch visits San Fran...Another Tennessee title

     SAN FRANCISCO (AP) _ The Olympic torch will make its only stop
in North America today with a scheduled run through the streets of
San Francisco. Security is tight in the city as protesters are
planning to demonstrate today in an effort to draw attention to
China‘s human rights record.

     TAMPA, Fla. (AP) _ It‘s another title for Tennessee. The Lady
Vols have posted back-to-back NCAA women‘s basketball championships
by beating Stanford 64-48 last night. This is the school‘s eighth
national title under coach Pat Summitt.

     NEW YORK (AP) _ Baltimore Ravens kicker Matt Stover has launched
a campaign to oust Gene Upshaw as head of the players union. In an
e-mail to the union‘s executive board and player reps that was
obtained by ESPN, Stover says he feels the board ``must begin to
prepare for a change in leadership immediately.‘‘

     AUGUSTA, Ga. (AP) _ Tiger Woods says he believes winning all
four of 2008‘s major championships is a goal that‘s ``easily within
reason.‘‘ Woods and the rest of the field get started in the
Masters at Augusta National tomorrow.

     MILWAUKEE (AP) _ Buzz Williams has inked a six-year deal to
become the new basketball coach at Marquette, replacing Tom Crean
(kreen). Williams spent last season as an assistant to Crean, who
left a week ago for the Indiana job following a 25-win season with
the Golden Eagles.
